Brawleigh Alexander is an interior design studio practicing in New York City and Raleigh, North Carolina, with a sensibility shaped equally by two decades in fashion and a deep reverence for the classical traditions of design.
Founded by Brawleigh Alexander Graham, the studio approaches every project as an act of careful editing. The work is defined by restraint - not austerity - and by a commitment to tension: old against new, worn against refined, the inherited against the acquired. The result is interiors that feel lived-in from the first day, as though they accumulated over time rather than arrived all at once.
Brawleigh's path to design was circuitous in the best way. A native of North Carolina, he studied Fashion Design and Textile Science at NC State before spending a decade in New York working in PR and marketing for some of the industry's most exacting brands. That world - where image, proportion, and the gap between good and exceptional are everything - trained an eye that no classroom could replicate. In 2021, he formalized that instinct with an Associate's degree in Interior Design and Architectural Studies from Parsons School of Design.
The fashion background is not incidental. It surfaces in the way the studio thinks about a room the way an editor thinks about a page: what stays, what goes, what earns its place. Materials are chosen for their history as much as their beauty. Vintage pieces are sourced for their specificity. Nothing is there to fill space.
The studio works with clients who are building a home that is genuinely theirs - not a reflection of a trend, but an expression of a considered life.
